ok, i just switch on my spore hp a few minutes ago and realise i got message from jingxin abt the overseas class trip.. and a few other messages too.. i feel so bad abt the superrrr late reply! >_< sorry people!!

anw, um i have SAT on 27 jan and there's no way i can go before that.. BOOHOOOO.. i really HOPE that the class will go afer that then. (:

i told my mum that i'll prob be having overseas class trip to bangkok next year and she's sooo unsupportive. hmph. you'd think i'm 5 years old. -.-" but well, she won't be in spore until around chinese new year so i guess i can JUST GO. lol. i dunno. but i really wanna go. anyone has suggestion pls???

i've just watched another lump of outdated movies and i think 'the devil wears prada' is reallyyy nice!!!! oh how i love anne hathaway's movies. =) 'The Hulk' was rubbish though. wasted my 2 hrs.. -.-" 'Pirates of the Caribbean' was really cool too but the ending was rubbish and they really should stop making movies with sequels. hmph.

anw, my cards have been sent out. thanks lots to siew mooi! thanks to those who actually told me that they receive the cards too. it's nice to have some acknowledgement. hehe..

i really wanna learn driving but somehow my mum seems very disapproving of me learning it now.. am i too young??? i don't think so leh! oh well.. shall see how. my dad was really nice abt it though. maybe i can learn after all.. see how first. =)

it suddenly occurs to me that people who are attached are different from what they used to be, regardless of how they themselves feel and say (ok maybe some people change less than others that it's un-noticable). and i think the least they could do is ensure that they can't be having a boyfriend-time and a friend-time at the same time cos it's really just so insensitive. is it too much to ask? =(

if you're wondering, no i'm not talking abt dear cons! hahaha. nvm nvm. i'm really a very random person and i'm just typing anything that came to my mind straight away. no planning. no wonder my essays always fail. boo. ok this blog entry already sounded very weird. shall end off here then.

life in lombok

i'm back from lombok! hehe.. for anyone who didn't know, lombok is part of indonesia. =)

hup: i'll normally only bring back dvds that i like to rewatch quite often. hehe.. in singapore don't have a lot of space to keep these things. i'll probably bring back cars though. haha. anw, what kind of musicals you referring to? you want high school musicals that kind is it? i'm not sure leh, i have to check first. happy endings are ok i guess. but in some movies, some characters are better off dead. lol.

ok, lombok is REALLY very beautiful! went for a 4 days 3 nights hols there.

1st day: reach in the evening so went for a swim at the nice swimming pool in the hotel. then eat dinner there too. food in the hotel is super ex man.. boo.. oh well. but it was too dark to walk out to find other alternatives and the distance is quite far too..

2nd day: went to see how pots are made with this special clay that can only be found 7 km from the pot-making place. wanted to try making one myself.. but my fingernails are long and i scared all the soil will go inside my nails. ewww.. the final products are really nice!! my dad was a bit impatient at the place so i din have enough time to browse thru all the souvenirs.. boohoo.. but i bought this newly-made small pot which i carve my name on and this cute 'kendi' (a place to hold water, sth like kettle). you insert water from below (turn the kendi upside down first) then turn it up again and pour the water out as per normal (from the mouth of the kettle). the water won't come out from below. really interesting huh?? (:

then also went to see some other historic places in lombok (i shall not bore you with the details) and end the day with going to this beach called 'Tanjung An'. the sand there is unique and is kind of big and round like a very small pebble, instead of the normal sand. i collected quite a lot of sea shells there too! they're very colourful and unique.. hehe.. quite happy with my findings. =)

3rd day: went to this place called 'gili air' where i tried SNORKLING. first time in my life! and wow man.. it's really fun and interesting and the scenery is really beautiful.. swim with all the fishes (i see dory from finding nemo!) and can see the colourful corals and sea anemone and stuff.. you really should try snorkling if you have the chance! =)

then went to this monkey forest where i fed the monkeys with peanuts. they're really cute and they will take the peanuts from your hands with caution. so cute~ and i think monkey kingdom also have hierachy and rules. like when i threw peanuts to the young monkey to eat, they won't dare to eat and they'll allow the bigger monkey to eat it instead. then the biggest monkey (prob the leader) won't eat a lot also. it'll just sit there and watch everyone. quite interesting to watch all these. hehe..

4th day: my plane is in the afternoon so i don't have much time to do stuff that day.. and it was only this day that i realise i can actually also do snorkling at this beach that's just beside my hotel.. what the!!! boohoo.. oh well oh well..

breakfast in the hotel rocks btw! it's buffet and i always eat so much! hahaha. ohh how i love the food! and each night when we get back to the hotel, i'll play cards (big 2) with my dad and my sis. what a blissful life. hehe.. i still need a lot of practice i guess.. we keep losing to my dad then my sis and i just take turn shuffling the cards. hmph. my dad is too pro la.

lessons learnt from this hols:

1. the next time you go somewhere, the first thing that you need to do is patrol the place and find out what kinds of things are available near the place you stay. don't rely too much on tourguides cos they usually don't tell you stuff that won't benefit them.

2. if you try snorkling, don't forget to put on sunblock. i completely forget abt the existence of sunblock and now my skin's kind of hurting and i'm rather burnt too.

you know sometimes it got me thinking.. i often wish i could go to australia, japan, england, blah blah to see these places. but i haven't even been to a lot of places in indonesia yet.. there's still so much to see and learn in my own country and yet i wish to go to other countries. hmm.. i wonder why.. haa..

anw, here's some interesting history abt lombok:

1. you cannot build a building that's more than 3 storeys. so basically every building there is usually only one storey or at the most 2 storeys. the hotels are not like the normal hotels. it's like resort kind. the room is like a small house that kind. pretty nice actually. you feel more privacy and you have this feeling that you own the place or sth. haha. so no need for lifts or stairs too. hehe.. in fact i think the only building with 3 storeys is the shopping mall there.

2. there are basically 3 kinds of suku (natives) in lombok. one of them is suku sasak and they carry out marriage by KIDNAPPING. so the guy will kidnap the girl in the night without the parents knowing. they cannot ask for the girls' hand in marriage from the girls' parents (which is what we usually do) cos that's considered rude, like the girl is some kind of property to the parents. really interesting how each different suku will have different ways of thinking and different tradition..

i can't rmbr much of the other facts and details actually.. haha.. you know how it is with me and short term memory.. >.<

oh but it's really quite sad to know that the tourist arrivals in lombok had been falling drastically since the bali bombing.. bali is very near lombok btw, tourists who go to lombok normally will go to bali first. it's like the people there suffer a lot, especially those who sell souvenirs to tourists cos not much people buy their stuff.. it's really sad to see them.. argghhhh, i hate terrorists ok! hmph.

oh btw, if you didn't receive xmas cards from me like you usually do, it's cos this year i didn't send them before i went back to indo. i've asked dear siew mooi to help me post somewhere nearer xmas time. prob around now. hehe.. so if you have received it, here's what you can do:

1. if you're nice, you can send one back to me. hehe.. (:

2. if you're not so nice (like you're lazy to buy stamps or you don't want to send card to me), you can at least let me know that you receive it? so that i know i didn't send to the wrong address or sth. maybe tag me or msg me? be nice ok! hehe..

3. if you're evil, you can just ignore the card and pretend it didn't exist. then i'll get the hint and won't send you xmas card again next year. (:

yijun: hey hey! yeps been enjoying myself. just bought like over 30 comics a couple of days ago (it's really cheap here you know). and i still haven't read them finish yet.. decided to invest in fruit basket. oh and here got superpsychic nanaki too!! what a joy. so i bought volume 2 here and now i have a mixture of english and indon comics for the series. haha. (:

yB: hmph. still as evil as ever i see. but no worries i won't get caught. =p eh don't be too evil k.. later you'll have bad karma for the new year. can you imagine you tripping over air molecules and falling flat on your face on 1 jan 2007? LOL.


YAY, replies to tags are over, so here are some updates.

i've been spending my time at home these few days.. just sleeping, eating, watching DVDs and reading comics. what a bliss. (:

somehow going out doesn't really appeal much to me anymore.. i wonder why.. hmmm.. maybe cos i've been going out EVERYDAY after A's over until the day of prom. so now is the time to rest the blistered feet. hee..

i must say i really like cars (ohh they're SOOO cute!), john tucker must die (he's gorgeous and the movie's really funny) and lucky number slevin. anyone watched this?? oh it's wonderful! it's abt a murder but it's really cool and funny. there's this guy who commits a murder of 2 mafia bosses (seems somewhat impossible but he can do it). it's a bit like ocean's eleven. you don't know how it can happen at first but then there's flashback and you'll then understand how it gets done and you'll get this WOW-ed feeling. it's just great. (:

the rest are ok i guess. the lake house is pretty romantic but i think keanu reeves really should have just died. that way the movie will be remembered more clearly. happy ending shows are kinda easy to forget. lol. isn't this why korean dramas stay close to our hearts? =D

x-men is great too! i like angel, his wings are really cool. i cried when the professor died though.. i don't like jean/phoenix.. =( though i must admit her powers are superb.

yeps ok, enough abt movies. i shall save my comments to myself before i bore you to death (hope i haven't already done that).

i tried to learn knitting from my mum a few days ago to disastrous results.. cos apparently knitting is SOOO much harder than cross-stitching. oh man.. i can't even make a shawl i think. nvm, i'll persevere harder when the mood to knit comes again. hehe..

ok i think my life is kinda monotonous and i really don't have much to update. oh did i mention i'll be going away for a holiday in lombok starting tmr until thurday? see the beaches there and stuff. just to cool off and have some family time i guess. i don't think there's really much to see there.. so will not update until then.

yay i'm updating again! my dad FINALLY signed up for a working internet connection so i can actually keep my promise to liwen. (:

i'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms now. boohoo.. i miss the class peeps so much i wonder why.. =( i want to go liwen's house play mahjong and play cards. i want to go shopping or watch movie with class girls too. even reading my dearrr comics cannot make the feelings disappear.. i miss liwen's non-stop ramblings, hup's fierce face and EVEN yong bing's evilness. oh man. how loser is this. anyone can suggest some help??

haven't been watching much DVD too cos the shop's opening hours is weird and when i went there this afternoon it was still closed. hmph. i can't rmbr much of the movies i want to watch actually.. there were 'cars', 'the devil wears prada', 'nanny mcphee' and i can't rmbr the rest. my memory is reallyyyy lousy. boo. anyone has any recommendations? oh and if you want any DVD, i can help you buy if it's sold here. one DVD only costs abt $1.50. and it's good quality too! (only pirated. lol.) just leave a tag on my board if you want anything. (:

oh but the one thing here that i can't stand is the weather.. oh man.. it's SOOO HOT like anything. no haze btw, in case you're wondering. i can see the sky (and that means the sun) super clearly. if you think it's hot in singapore.. think again. it's much worse here.. i can't sit in my room without air-con for even 10 minutes without sweating. this is very bad huh.. more air-con means more global warming which means a hotter weather. it's such a vicious cycle. =(

well since i don't have much to do, i've been thinking lots these days.. and i realise i do have a lot of regrets in my life. i wish i've been nicer to certain people and don't bother so much with others. now that JC life is over, i guess i will never have the chance to repair it again. unless of cos we got to the same university (which is unlikely since i want to go SMU). and even if we did, we may not be in the same course. or worse, the guys are going to NS and i will really probably will never see male friends again. >.<

oh well, i guess that's life. a little (or sometimes a lot) regrets here and there. on that note, i regretted i didn't take individual photos with some of the class guys. think i only manage to take with jingxin, chinghow, yongtat and polo. i guess it's weird that i felt a bit shy to ask the class guys to take photo when i can just go to other people's class and ask the guys that i know there to take photo. hmmmmm.....

at least i got individual photos with the class girls and my beloved angklung exco. =)

ok i'm starting to sweat like anything already. have to go to my room now to read comics and enjoy air-con. ciao~

indo, here i come!

hmm, i'm at the airport now, rotting and waiting to board the plane. it's been a very messy day.. didn't manage to pack finish my luggage and write my xmas cards on time.. boohoo.. in the end have to rush everything and i didn't manage to write xmas cards to a few people. so sorry! >.<

and the original plan to take MRT to airport to save $$$ is once again an illusion. maybe next year it'll come true? LOL. i'll continue believing. =)

anw, prom was great. everyone is sooo pretty!! (special mention to clemmie, trinet, mad and elaine who look totally stunning) but really, everyone look superb! even the guys. haha. for once the class guys look so mature and handsome, so unlike normal days. LOL.

dismas was prom king, that's quite a pleasant surprise.. should have taken pics with him but couldn't find him anywhere.. so yeah.. =( couldn't find ferro too.. yeps, other than this 2, think i got take photo with everyone else. =)

the food was ok i think. not that great but not too sucky either. i love the prawns, the soup and the dessert! the rest i think not that nice.

anw, the best part is not the prom.. it's the stay-over at the hotel! hehe.. so glad i decided to stay.. it was the most fun 'class outing' ever. i reallyyy enjoy playing cards with the class people. (:

i realise liwen's reaction time is SOO lag.. she's probably the worst in the world. we were playing snap and when everyone else already snapped the card, liwen haven't even put her hands down. *diaox*

i also realise that yong bing ONLY can talk. lol. we were playing bridge and he was telling me to do this and do that (cos he wasn't playing at first).. so noisy! hmph. but when he got down to playing, he lost like almost all the games can?? he's forever at the loser side one. lol.

and yong tat is pro at bridge! everytime i pair with him i always win one.. hehe.. or maybe it's cos i'm a good player. heehee.. oh but he's only good when he's not stupid enough to bid until so high. -.-"

yeps, really had SUPERB time at the hotel! wish there were more class outings like this (instead of watching movie or going sentosa). i prefer this kind. =)

probably even better than chalet cos the facilities are superb! and not like chalet is cheap too mah. so by paying a little bit more, we can get warm cosy bed, beautiful toilet and fantastic view. how great!

oh and i realise that the class guys are verrrryyyy nice people!! chinghow and yuan shan especially! when we were walking back to pan pacific hotel from swissotel in our painful heels, these 2 bother to walk behind the girls and wait for us. how sweet. (:

and jingxin was nice too! he helped us flag a taxi when we were kinda lost and didn't know which way to go.. then the taxi uncle very nice also.. he brought us to pan pacific without charging a single cent. hehe.. (:

yeps yeps, it'll really be a day which i'll always keep in mind. (: i'll upload the photos when i come back from indo k? you people with cameras pls upload the photos too!

artemis fowl rocks my life

just finished reading the newest artemis fowl book that i borrowed from yijun. oh wow.. it's superb! i'm totally amazed with the author (eoin colfer). he's sooo talented in writing la! how did he even manage to think of all these cool stuff! i still rmbr the 'eternity code' book which was wayyyy cool too! totally in love with the books! (:

ok it's weird that i'm developing all these love with BOOKS. ha. while everyone else is totally into tv. hmmm. i guess i'm weird. haha. but i'd rather read comics or nice novels than watching tv! ok not that i don't like tv. i recently fell in love with ghost whisperer. hoho.. beautiful show!

and to think that i didn't even read ANY novels when i was younger. maybe it's NJ. the love for books gets to me. LOL. how i wish i love my phy tb! which costs 50 bucks by the way. and i've only read one chapter (electric field).. oh boo.. then maybe my phy will show a teeny weeny improvement from the current loser state! >_<

oh well. on a brighter side, i've already bought my prom dress! hehe.. so satisfied!! after walking like 6 days, i finally found one that's nice, can fit me and costs reasonable. phew~ =)

ok i hope i don't look like walking pillow. and even if i do, you better NOT tell me that on that night or i'll BOX you! so now i only need to buy a pair of nice longgg earrings abd erm, sth else a girl needs which i shall not name. haha. =p

OHH and what the heck! ytd night when i was trying on my sec 4 prom shoe, the strap broke!!!! HMPH. bet somebody must be cursing me! i'm guessing it's either yong bing, hup kee or wai han! ok which one of you evil people curse me! OWN UP! >.<

now i need to buy a new pair. and thinking of it i already want to die.. to shop for prom dress took me 6 days! and now i need to buy shoes??? i din even look at shoes at all the places i've already visited when i was looking for my dress. does that mean i've to repeat???? but i have no time!! ohh why is this happening!!

shopping spree!

oh man my feet HURT. like anything. too much shopping.. haa..

been out EVERYDAY since monday from afternoon all the wayyyy until night all around singapore. i'm such a spendthrift.. oh no.. save me! >_<

went to expo today since early morning to go to 3 warehouse sales! 1st started out with popular mega sale! the books are on sale and so cheapp tooo! it's 3 for $15!! what a bargain! i bought 6. hahaha. got A LOT of books man.. there was memoirs of a geisha too. but i didn't buy cos the font too small for my liking. lol. then the CDs (CD RAMA kind) are at 3 for $10. o.O!! you can imagine it's crowded like anything.. especially the chinese CD section. think got SHE blah blah. (i cannot read chinese words. lol.) then the queue to pay is superr longggggg ar! if i didn't buy SO much things i'll refuse to queue! =p

then next stop is the adidas warehouse sale! this one ar.. to go in even have to queue for very long man! oh and i met yijun!!!! hahaha. what a shock! this girl ar.. i think finish phy s paper then cheong to expo already! lol. and i finally bought my favourite adidas shoes!! the usual is at $119 that one. they discount until $50! to buy these shoes take A LOT of effort one ok! must wave your hand frantically to get the person's attention so that they can get your size for you. then this design no size so change design then change size blah blah. hard work! but it's all worth it! i only buy one pair though. haa. ppl there buy like 3 pairs or sth?? like free gift like that! the jerseys are super cheap too! but i don't wear jerseys. lol. the guy in front of me bought 3 or sth.

but the cashier ar.. SUPER SLOW. lucky i queue at the 'cash only' cashier (though by mistake). if you pay by visa then i think it'll take another 3 hrs to pay or sth. the guy that's abt next to me at the next cashier barely move an inch even until the moment i paid my stuff. good luck to him!

next is loreal warehouse sale! OH MAN. they sell everything so cheappppp! foundation that's usually $25 goes at 5 for $20. same goes for powder that usually costs abt $20 too. hair mask that's normally $13 goes at 3 for $20. hair dye that's usually $18 goes at 3 for $18. face wash usually abt $12 goes at 3 for $15..

wahh.. think today spent money like it drops from the sky or sth.. but all the bargains are so irresistable!!!! how to find things so cheap like this?? went home with mountains of plastic bags. almost died on the mrt though.. feet hurt, hands tired, eyes sleepy and mrt so crowded.

ohhh! and there was this indian mother and her daughter. NO MANNERS one ok! the moment this couple stood up from their seats, the mother pushed the child to SNATCH the seats! the couple can't even walk out can! think the mrt doors almost closed if they didn't cheong. then hor, the mother look at the child with such approving look, like "GOOD JOB. WELL DONE." o.O!!! what's happening to the world?? parents are teaching their children the wrong values loh.. hmph.

the kiddos at popular sale also VERY irritating one ok. so crowded already then still push push and run around. they think their house is it?? AIYO.

for those interested, the sale is still on at expo until sunday. you can go if you want. it's very worth it! (:

oh well oh well. today is such a fruitful day. haha. oh and did i mention that i bought my digi cam today too? hee.. it's canon ixus 60, 6 mega pixel. at $499. got lots of freebies! got the leather case ($29), one extra battery (abt $80) and 512 MB SD card. so worth it i think! thanks yijun for all your newspaper cut-outs and guidance! couldn't have done it without you. hehe.. (:

ok i seem to be buying EVERYTHING but my prom necessities! TSK at me! >_<

going to watch tv now 1st. ciao~
